Biography

Ben Cometto is a master’s student in Robotics. His research interests focus around autonomous multi-robot systems, with a particular interest in how teams of robots can work together to accomplish complex tasks while allowing humans to communicate intent at a high level rather than directing individual robots.

His recent work has included off-road vehicle convoying systems, 2D-to-3D lidar conversion for wildfire fuel observation, and user interfaces for human-led vehicle convoys. He is currently exploring mission-type orders for robotics as part of his master’s thesis.

Fun fact: Ben built a climbing anchor out of ice screws before he built one out of trad gear.
