The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) is a non-profit research and graduate education institute created to conduct leading-edge aerospace and atmospheric research, develop new technologies for the nation and help inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. NIA serves as a strategic partner with NASA Langley Research Center and the aerospace community to enable research creativity and expand technology development opportunities. The Institute integrates research and graduate education while creating new government/academia/industry partnerships to solve tomorrow’s problems today.

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is the Air Force’s only organization wholly dedicated to leading the discovery, development, and integration of warfighting technologies for the US air, space and cyberspace forces. AFRL traces its roots to the vision of the airpower pioneers who understood science as key to air supremacy.

Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) was founded in 1989 to enhance partners’ aerospace competitiveness through research and technology development, workforce preparedness, and engagement with global networks for innovation and advocacy. OAI is a joint initiative of the NASA Glenn Research Center, the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the State of Ohio, ten Ohio public and private universities granting doctoral degrees in aerospace-related engineering disciplines, and numerous companies engaged in aerospace activities.

igus inc. manufacturers unique plastic bearing products and continuous-flex cable.  Through the igus Y.E.S. program, they have graciously supported us with a majority of Oryx’s cable, slewing rings, and some other bearing products. In addition, igus donated a 5-DOF cable-driven arm for the wheelchair project.

The MathWorks, Inc. is the developer of MATLAB and other mathematical software tools that are used extensively by researchers around the world.  MathWorks has generously supported RIVeR Lab financially as well as with licenses of their software tools.  MATLAB has been the primary software used for rover simulations and data analysis.

Barnstorm Cycles is a full service motorcycle shop, specializing in full custom builds. They also provide custom fabrication, machining, and welding services. Their generous donation of precision aluminum welding services provides us with the ability to make lightweight and strong components in configurations that would otherwise not be possible.
